    FAQs

If the issue persists, contact our support team.

What makes the Hall Effect joysticks and triggers better than regular ones?

Hall Effect sensors use magnets instead of traditional potentiometers, making them completely frictionless with minimal wear and tear. This means no stick drift over time, smoother movement, and significantly longer lifespan—the joysticks are rated for 5 million actuations compared to standard controllers that develop drift issues much sooner.

What is stick drift, and how do Hall Effect joysticks prevent it?

Stick drift is the most common controller failure — it happens when traditional potentiometer-based joysticks wear down from friction, causing your character or camera to move on its own even when you're not touching the stick. The Surge Ultra replaces these with magnetic Hall Effect sensors that have no physical contact points between moving parts, which means virtually zero wear over time. Your sticks stay as accurate on day 500 as they were on day one, saving you from the typical 1–2 year controller replacement cycle.

How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?

The 1200mAh battery provides up to 12 hours of continuous gameplay on a single charge. Battery life depends on your vibration and RGB lighting settings—using lower vibration levels and dimmer lighting extends playtime. The controller charges via USB-C/dock for fast and convenient charging.

What do the Dual Mode triggers actually do, and when would I use each mode?

The triggers combine a Hall Effect analog sensor with a mechanical micro switch, and you can toggle between two modes on the fly without any tools. Short-throw (digital) mode turns the trigger into a near-instant click — perfect for FPS games where you want the fastest possible shot registration. Long-throw (analog) mode gives you the full travel distance for gradient control — ideal for racing games where you need to modulate acceleration and braking precisely. Being able to switch mid-session means one controller works equally well across different game genres.

Can I use this controller with my Nintendo Switch, phone, and PC?

Yes! Surge Ultra supports tri-mode connectivity: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless (via included dongle), and wired USB-C connection. It's compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS (non-MFI), and Nintendo Switch. You can easily switch between devices using the dedicated mode switch on the top panel.

What is the polling rate and why does it matter?

Polling rate determines how quickly the controller communicates with your device. Surge Ultra offers up to 1000Hz (1ms response time) over 2.4GHz wireless and wired connections, and 125Hz over Bluetooth. This means near-instant input recognition—your button presses and stick movements register almost immediately, giving you a competitive edge in fast-paced games.

What can I do with the programmable macro buttons?

The two rear-mounted M1 and M2 buttons can be customized to execute complex button combinations or frequently used actions with a single press. This is perfect for games where you need instant access to combos, building commands, or special abilities without taking your thumbs off the joysticks.

    What's included in the box?

Your Surge Ultra controller package includes: the controller with built-in 2.4GHz receiver storage, USB-A to USB-C charging cable, user manual, and stickers. The 2.4GHz wireless dongle is stored inside the controller itself, so you'll never lose it.
